In addressing the requirements of the
National Curriculum, it is the aim of our School that:
- All children receive equal instruction in
Information and Communications Technology
- ICT be presented as a creative and
fascinating process in which children are
encouraged to use their own initiative,
imagination, reasoning and investigative skills.
- Pupils appreciate the relevance of ICT in
our society and that they see it as an essential
tool for learning, for communicating, for
finding information and for controlling and
understanding the environment. Pupils will be
given opportunity to describe, illustrate,
interpret and explain while using technological
language and conventions.
- Every child receives an equal opportunity to
develop their ICT capability, with the use of
ICT being planned for in line with its status as
a core National Curriculum subject.
- All pupils are extended in each area of the
ICT Curriculum so that they reach their full
potential.
- Pupils learn to work individually and
collaboratively.
- Opportunities for ICT are incorporated in
other areas of the National Curriculum.
- Pupils have a heightened awareness of ICT
through the regular display of their work in the
classroom and around the School.
