Many thanks to all parents who completed and returned the questionnaire sent out in the Autumn 2009 Term. I am delighted to report that the response was overall very positive, as you can see below. This is the first time we have undertaken such an excercise and we are glad that we went through this process - the results are interesting. We will look to improve areas where we have been found wanting and will again seek the thoughts and views of our parent body.

With the majority of parents who replied quoting the School's traditional values - a smart attire, good manners, kindness and respect towards others - and small class sizes as major strengths, it is perhaps not surprising that many say they chose our School because of its unique "friendly, family atmosphere" and good reputation in the local community. An excellent staff, hardworking and caring, who promote pupils' self-esteem, confidence and independence, as well as good discipline and high academic achievements were other strengths frequently listed.

From parents questionnaire responses, it is clear that communication between school and home, whether by letter or via the website, needs some improvement. We can assure you that we are endeavouring to improve this aspect of the school administration, both through a new and updated website and through more regular newsletters and earlier notification of events wherever possible.

The junior children were also asked what they liked most about the school and whether there was anything they would like to change.

Once again, the most frequent comments quoted the caring, friendly attitude of teachers and other pupils in a happy school where there is lots to learn.

Many children said that they would like a bigger playground..! Whilst it is not possible to enlarge the space we have, I hope that the introduction of 2-yeargroup playtimes will help as, obviously, this means fewer children sharing the available space at any one time. The renovated garden area has also provided an extra exciting play setting, especially for the lower years.
