As you may know, the 11+ Selection Test
becomes more and more difficult each year. In spite of this,
our level of passes is very high; our results being as we
would forecast.
Crowstone Preparatory School is one of the few
Private Schools in the borough to allow every pupil in Year
6 to sit the Selection Test, if they so wish. We
are a
non-selective Preparatory School, admitting
pupils at 2½ years of age ~ it is therefore sometimes
difficult to forecast so early in their school career how
such young ones will perform at 11+ level. However, on
average, I am pleased to report that our success rate at 11+
level regularly exceeds our expectations. We also
consistently achieve above the National Average for results
at National Curriculum Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 level.
The majority of our children have not only sat the 11+
Selection Test, with success, but have over the years also
sat difficult examinations for entrance to Public Schools,
with splendid results achieved, e.g.
New
Hall School
Brentwood,
Felsted,
Chelmsford
High School for Girls,
King
Edward VI Grammar School,
Milfield,
St.
Felix,
City
of London School for Girls
and
City
of London School for Boys
to name but a few. These prestigious schools are only too delighted to
admit our pupils. Over the past years almost half
of our pupils have successfully gained entry to the four local Grammar Schools,
Westcliff or Southend High for Boys and Girls.
We would like to congratulate all members of staff, past and
present, for the vital role they have each played in
tutoring these pupils to a high standard in readiness for
the Selection Test and other Entrance Examinations.
Preparing the children for an external examination, over a
long period of time, is very much a team effort. Our results
show that the tuition on offer throughout the School is of
the highest level, enabling our children to achieve such
impressive results. |
We are proud to announce to you our examination success
for Year 6 pupils who sat the 11+ Selection Test and
Entrance Examinations to other Independent Secondary Schools
at the end of last November.
Two of our pupils have gained entrance to Southend High School for Girls and
one has gained entrance to Westcliff High School for Girls. Of the 666 applicants
for SHSG our two successful pupils were ranked 2nd and 21st.
Our candidate for WHSG also ranked very highly,
placing 14th out of 803 applicants. A commendable achievement by
all, we are sure you will agree.
All pupils are to be
congratulated on their success. Their results are just
reward for many years of hard work by pupils, staff and
parents.
Congratulations to everyone! |
